When opening Office Documents from a website users get Windows - Microsoft Community

when users open office documents (excel, word, powerpoint) our website site popup windows security asking credentials.  if cancel or close (click  x) document opens no issue.  pop if opening, not if download , save machine.

just started happening.  web server windows server 2008 r2 our users running windows 7 , ie 11

if use share drive path same files open no pop up.  happens when opening website.

not sure if ie issue or web server, iis, or website?

any suggestions or appreciated.

try check behavior in other browsers , see whether problem persist?

i guess issue directory permission in iis.

make sure grand access directory in iis guest users.

also check whether same thing happen if add different thing image?
