Vlookup error - Microsoft Community

=vlookup(c29,'turbine list info'!$c$2:$d$200,2,false) - works

=vlookup(c28,'turbine list info'!$c$2:$d$200,2,false) - not. on same work book/column etc etc. difference between 2 formulas "c29" has letter in project number.

this number (c) has formula retrieve data,

=mid(d27,8,6) (for data no letters in)

=mid(d29,8,7) (for data numbers in)

the data worksheet in same workbook

if on type number, works.

c d e e g h i j k l
200152 162506(200152) 1133193 2 42654 42762 2017 1 34 #n/a
200153a 106141(200153a) 1136948 1 42664 42754 2017 1 1 mediumfrancis

i have tried "trim" doesn't work

thank received

i suspect 200152 looking number your =mid(d27,8,6) return text value looks number not match.

change formula there no letters to =mid(d27,8,6)*1
