hi

i got computer fixed new hard drive put in , try put in product key office: mac 2011 home , student tell me error need purchase  microsoft?

in theory no, should not have buy new copy of office.

all consumer licenses allow "unlimited" re-install/activation on same computer, after minor upgrades link new hd's. there 1 exception, "volume license", extremely unlikely have type of license, of them have limit on number of times can activate using key.

we need full , exact error message before can provide specific suggestions.



Office / Install, upgrade and activate / Mac / Office 2011 for Mac
