Excel Forumla Question - Microsoft Community

i have excel spreadsheet lists "time of day" or "time of night" , "amount of driving time". trying use formula calculate total amount of time driven during day vs. during night. there formula add times if, example, "time of day" populated? see example below...

time of day	time of night	amount of driving time
11:00 am		0:30
	5:00 pm	1:00
	5:30 pm	0:45
12:00pm		0:30
	8:00 pm	0:30

total day hours driven: _________________   total night hours driven: ____________________

use formula in a11 cell:

=sumproduct(($c$2:$c$6)*($a$2:$a$6<>""))

use formula in b11 cell:

=sumproduct(($c$2:$c$6)*($b$2:$b$6<>""))

now select cell a11:b11 , set cell formatting hh:mm
