Office Install Problem - Microsoft Community

trying install office home n student retail card new 64 bit laptop running win 10.

after getting microsoft account credentials sorted out (another story).

i went office.com/myaccount , clicked 'install'.  appeared install.  @ 1 point there kind of splash screen free 1 year trial, i'm guessing there a  promo on asus k556u model.  panel came allowing install of office 365 components.  went control panel > programs , there 2 items office 365 , office 2016 home , office.  deleted both programs.  other thing interesting never asked product key during first install.

i went install 2nd time.  again, did not ask product key.  took 20 minutes (slowish adsl line) , completed install.  clicking on word > file showed product activated, mo home , student 2016  c1710 (build 8625.2121click-to-run). 32bit. wanted 64 bit.

back in control panel > programs showing 1 program called microsoft office h + student 2016-en-us today's date no file size information @ all.

i went install 3rd time.  time did want product key before install, entered it.  proceeded install.  install quite bit shorter time - maybe 5 minutes.  time cicking on word > file showed product activated, mo home , student 2016  c1710 different build 

(build 8625.2139ick-to-run). 32bit

i not want use office 365 , want 64 bit version.  reading ms support documents think have deactivate 365 subscription rather delete can't figure out how.

i did manage drill down talk support human being , waited on hold 20 minutes told "i'll have transfer tech support" have them hang or drop call.  not impressed.

any suggestions?

users have option choose between 32-bit , 64-bit versions of office during installation. based on information you've shared, we'd recommend uninstalling other office suites on device prior installing 64-bit version of office. uninstall office, can perform steps posted on link. article provides option use easy fix tool uninstall office on device.
