MS Excel freeze - not sufficient resources on clean install - Microsoft Community

dear community

i have serious issue i'm trying fight alone since week i'm running of ideas. need help.

win10, 64bit + office 365 home @ laptop i3 , 8gb of ram , plenty of hdd space.

it started excel. i'm working complex spreadsheets either contain macros or have several sheets filled references , formulas. finance stuff.

as of more week i'm unable open more complex files. ends having ribbon, spreadsheet area turns gray. after sec see ms excel consumes between 80 - 99% of cpu , collapse. can open fresh simple file.

same files open elsewhere w/o issues.

i suspecting went wrong win profile (testing on other machines successful) hence after several tries repairing office , win, did clean win10 (64bit home) install + office (32 bit home). same problem. 

any ideas next?

sounds interesting. mentioned file opened in machine. @ first glance have imagined there wrong file itself, apparently not case here. matter of interest on subject, answer these questions:

1. other machines have tried on same 64bit processor , running 32bit copies of excel?
2. has copy ever opened files macros in past?
3. getting error messages when try open file?

4. have tried going excel's trust center check macro settings? directions here.
