if cell contains text/number change colour of whole row.  if enter column d2 want a2:j2 change green , hoping conditional format.

select a2 drag select on j2 , down select many rows in want then:

home tab | conditional formatting | new rule | use formula decide cells format , enter formula.

=$d2<>""

click format button | fill tab , choose colour , ok out.
