Excel crashes when attempting to use any data connection - Microsoft Community

using excel 2016 mso (16.0.8326.2096) 64-bit  through office 365 proplus subscription on brand new windows 10 laptop.

when click on data ribbon, , try use of functions under "get & transform data" or "queries & connections",  excel dies.

event log registers following error:

".net runtime version 2.0.50727.8794 - clr: fatal execution engine error (00007ff9aeda104e) (80131506)"

i have been unable figure out why happens. google skills have not helped. trying repair office installation , uninstalling/reinstalling has not helped.  brand new office installation on brand new computer anyways.

i happy report problem has been resolved.  clean boot request triggered additional questions in head. looked see processes running on computer after clean boot. 

i noticed emet agent was running, after clean boot. believe gets triggered through login script @ our domain.  contacted our department , requested disabled given run windows 10.  

once emet agent disabled , rebooted, problem excel crash disappeared.  caused emet agent.

thank assistance through process!
