Websites no longer compatible with IE11 - Microsoft Community

we small business running windows 7 pro on our workstations , more , more of websites use no longer supported ie11.  advise use edge, chrome or firefox.  problems many other websites use not, yet, support edge.

so, seems microsoft has put in odd position.  not upgrading our computers windows 10 year or so.  in meantime i'll have choose between chrome or firefox standardize on.  when buy new fleet of computers running windows 10 users not want have change browsers again i'll keep using chrome/firefox , not switch them edge.

i don't understand microsoft's goals here?  us, ms forcing users use competitors product?

more , more of websites use no longer supported ie11.

you examine details such examples , find incorrect assumptions being made cause such conclusion.   example, compatibility view if used cause it, since implies presenting website useragent string looked ie7 browser in ie5 emulation mode!  so, in case not ie11 problem whatever making run in compatibility view.  etc.
