Excel 2016, Macbook, Solver Add-in not functioning properly - Microsoft Community

i have upgraded excel 2016 macbook, updated of 11/25/2017. have checked excel updates , office updates , mac updates , new t can be. 

when using solver add-in in excel 2016, have lot of issues solver shutting down excel completely. sometimes, when click on cell reference button worksheet goes entirely white, , other times select cell, excel disappears dialog box giving me reopen excel , try unsaved work. use program school, , have take assessments it. however, if happens during assessment, file close , can fail text closing file during. frustrating , nothing has worked yet. hoping, 2016 version, , 2017 problem have been resolved now, i'm still having lot of trouble it.

please go excel menu , choose excel. verify have version 15.40

please go mac app store icon on dock. in app store, click updates tab. make sure have installed mac os updates

i advise testing in safe mode. restart mac , hold shift key down moment hear startup chime. once see swirling circle can let go of shift key. mac automatically fix problems startup disk , reduce available font set, , prevent other apps launching @ startup. takes longer boot safe mode, don't alarmed if seems it's taking forever.

once desktop, open problem app(s). work ok (yes or no)?

if yes, maybe starting in safe mode fixed problem. regular restart , test again. app work (yes or no)?

there lot of possibilities troubleshooting based on results of testing safe mode. please reply results of testing.
