Can I run and install Microsoft Office on an older Imac 7? - Microsoft Community

unfamiliar a pc environment need this.  have older imac 7 has intel processor, 2gb of ram , running osx 10.6.6 yosemite. want install microsoft office (word, excel, etc.) onto mac can learn these programs job.  work on mac software in-design, photoshop, illustrator, etc.  first question whether office compatible older mac , if version , it. want purchase software or download internet , install myself (not technically inclined).

office 2016 mac requires first update os 10.10 before installing.

2 gig of ram inadequate snappy performance. have 8 gig , isn't enough time. 4 gig of ram stated minimum requirement. don't know whether or not installer checks amount of ram before installing.

microsoft office sold @ thousands of stores. amazon, ebay, walmart, directly microsoft.
