we running latest slow insider build (originally first release). of our users have autosave feature in excel. users using onedrive, onedrive sync client , folder redirect onedrive folder under c:\users. sporadically autosave feature greyed out, stating file must saved onedrive. however, file on onedrive. when user manually saves file, toolbar @ top states saved onedrive. when save file, can go directly onedrive folder , see file has synced , file has been updated in cloud well. there no doubt syncing happening client , onedrive in fact place file resides. file not encrypted or password protected. file using xlsx. can turn around , same random excel document , autosave feature enabled. seems random. else having similar results?

hi,
the autosave feature disabled when files aren't saved onedrive, onedrive for business, or sharepoint online, if files in .xls, .ppt, or .doc format, or if workbook has password protection. since you're using windows 10 enterprise 1703 office 2016 64bit (office 365 e3 subscription), may involve server configuration settings better suited pro audience on technet. kindly post question in technet microsoft forum.
for further queries, feel free post back.
