Can't view PDF's in IE since windows update - Microsoft Community

a few weeks ago, computer updated windows.  version 10.0.15063.  ie version 11.413.15063.0

when click open  bank statement, pops internet explorer security box says "a website wants open web content using program on computer.  program open outside of protected mode......  name "twinui" , publisher microsoft windows.

when click allow, opens separate window looks edge, disappears.

if open in firefox, no problem.

if save file desktop , click "open with" and select "reader", opens fine.

adobe isn't on list.  mean?

let's try old fashioned way, control panel.

from start, search control panel. open control panel (desktop app) go programs> default programs> associate file type or protocol program.

find pdf in list change program. @ bottom of list of programs click on more apps. if adobe reader still not listed click on app on pc.

drill down "c:\program files (x86)" (64-bit system) or "c:\program files"

(32-bit system) then

adobe

   acrobat reader 

      reader

         select adrord32.exe open.
