Is it necessary to reserve an Edge extension name before testing - Microsoft Community

is necessary reserve edge extension name and/or associate app store before testing locally?

i trying port chrome/firefox extension edge uses native messaging. have created uwp app , included converted extension. after deploying recognized edge in extensions tab can't application connect uwp app. wondering if because have not registered extension name windows store. reading documentation not clear me whether necessary reserve name before testing locally. working in developer mode.
