Spell check not working in IE11 since Feature update to Windows 10, - Microsoft Community


as above pc did massive update feature update windows 10, version 1703 (wiohtout asking me , locked pc hour) on tuesday. since spell check no longer working in ie11. have downloaded language pack pc using made no difference. have looked @ other solutions there no add in , slider switches under change pc settings not availbale under settings screen.

p.s. checked article , there no spelling settings under typing. typing , touch keyboard:

though default language of pc set uk english, there's possibility recent update has set other language settings english.

sort out problem, please check add-ons on internet explorer , see if spelling correction language set english (united kingdom). follow these steps:

  1. open internet explorer.
  2. click tools (gear icon), select manage add-ons.
  3. in left pane, click spelling correction, select english (united kingdom).
  4. click close.

once done, relaunch ie , see if spell checker language changed uk english.

please verify if keyboard layout you're using set in english (united kingdom).

  1. open internet explorer.
  2. click internet options.
  3. under general tab, appearance, , click languages.
  4. click button set language preferences.
  5. under change language preferences, click english (united kingdom), options.
  6. check if have united kingdom under input method.
  7. if it's not on list, click add input method, add united kingdom touch keyboard layout.
