word and excel crashing - Microsoft Community

word , excel programs crashing when launched.     had remote session jennifer performed manual repair of office  from add/remove programs  and seemed have fixed issues word , excel crashing temporarily. 

word , excel don't crash in safe mode.

i read similar problems.  hoping there ready fix.  have 5 places check first.  

i found out happened.  when person updated there computer version 1709, reverted network sharing default.  removed network sharing.  took computer reformat it.  decided connect shared drive.  got message network sharing not enabled.  had enabled me @ drive.  company share there time, no issues accessing it.

the version 1709 doesn't affect everyone, when does, it's (pain in a****)

i know if version 1709's problem being researched , tested.  mac's have same issue, update released before gets tested.  pr purposes microsoft should somehow let people know without being seen spy.  right now, i'm struggling computer refusing install 1709.

i hate when people scoff @ microsoft , buy mac.  when mac similar , worse things.  away it.
