PowerPivot for Office 365 Home Edition - Microsoft Community

hello,

i yearly subscriber microsoft office 365 home edition. use software excel practice analytical skills use @ job. subscription provide me power query in excel. however, not see or have access powerpivot. how can have powerpivot installed on laptop office 365 home edition?

office 2016/365 power pivot?!?

there couple of separate threads of thought come in end.

.

first, genius in marketing decided in 2016 powerpivot part of “business intelligence”, “bi”, set of features.

.

second, question have “consumer” license 365 home / personal / university.  consumer not business, don’t “need” “business intelligence” features ... (not idea ...). 

.

but, unfortunately same big brain decided “big business”

needed business intelligence (not @ intelligent business decision on ms’s part, there go!)

third, mysterious reason decided include bi in standalone version of excel.

.

fourth, ms documentation limitation of bi extremely vague , hard find!  link place i’ve seen explicitly stated, buried in diagrams , hard find:

finally, yes, if have 1 of bundles not include bi have buy , install standalone excel 2016 on 365 subscription feature. said, doesn’t make business sense me, lately ms seems going out of it’s way shoot in foot every chance gets.

bottom line

either buy standalone copy of excel 2016 , install "on top of" 365 home

or

you find office 2010 license , dowload free addon.
