Can OneNote be used as an alternative to Word for large amounts of - Microsoft Community

hello all,

i ask question intended uses of onenote.

i downloaded onenote macbookpro few days ago, , amazed discover how useful was. have been hoping find while. 
so started using project working on. transferred bunch of information onenote, made order different sections , pages, and immediately started working (i on deadline).

however, now, 4 or 5 days later onenote reacting slowly, making impossible go 1 using it. 

before go on troubleshooting etc., question whether onenote not meant able handle large quantities of information begin with?

if there no use me spend time trying more reactive, if isn't meant trying use for.

i admit, have been using type of text editor, replacement word hasn't been able provide.

but maybe not capable of handling big amounts of text?

in general onenote isn't size dependent. onenote on mac meant stored in cloud location such onedrive or onedrive business. onenote 2016 mac continually syncs of notes onedrive, if notebook syncing slow, may depend on internet connection.

when say, “onenote reacting slowly” if mean onenote slow when typing must tell you, it’s issue onenote 2016 mac , under investigation.

meanwhile, in onenote, go onenote menu , choose about onenote, confirm version , build. also, let know exact issue facing using onenote.
