Files shared from a OneDrive Business account do not show up in the - Microsoft Community

our largest client wants collaborate on excel spreadsheet - twisted arm enough him create microsoft account work email, can share our spreadsheet him. received invite , able pull on browser, however, not show in 'shared' folder, means can via email link , cannot open on excel mobile app (which main idea start with). 
is there solution/work around? according read, should work, reading through vast amount of posts on here sharing problems, little concerned. if doesn't work, embarrassing - come on microsoft.... 2017, how hard can share file in cloud iphone or android device? or have on google platform?

as workaround, suggest shared file word/school account microsoft account.
